Business Meeting – February 6, 2008

7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Vice President, Tony DeLucia.
President Jim Huston called the meeting to order promptly at 7:00 p.m.
Karen Mattson read the secretary’s minutes and they were approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report……the treasurer was not present. The report remains the same as last month, with no deposits or expenses.
Old Business
By-laws were passed out and Dee Pralle moved we accept the By-laws with the few housekeeping changes mentioned (he/she), etc. It was seconded, and passed unanimously.
Karen will write a ‘policy & procedures’ notice on our current dues amount.
A long discussion was held on the Golf Tournament to take place on March 8, 2008. A sign-up flyer for participants and an advertising flyer were passed out. See attached copies – most things discussed are printed on these flyers. Four sponsors at 200.00 each have signed up so far with 5 more needed to cover all nine holes. Each sponsor will get advertising on the radio, flyers, etc. and may have a banner at their respective holes.
New Business
Kathy Huston moved we order a sign to promote the WCC using our emblem with the Ptarmigan to be attached to the “Entering Willow” signs now displayed on the Parks Hw;. not to exceed 200.00 and not to exceed 30”. The discussion for this motion was tabled until further information on costs, etc could be investigated.
President Jim brought up last year’s security at the Iditarod restart to keep snowmachines from entering areas of congestion. He is interested in continuing this security. He will check with the Iditarod folks about providing snowmachine rides for interested attendees.
New Board Director positions are needed under the new by-laws. Dorothea Taylor is interested in one position and Jim Norcross will be asked. They will be voted on at the next meeting.
Dorothea Taylor moved the Chamber support the Willow Christmas tree in front of the Willow Hardware. The motion was seconded and passed. More will follow towards the end of the year.
Larry Jacobson encouraged members to participate in the Comprehensive Plan meeting tomorrow evening, the 7th, at the Willow Community Center.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
